McCain had to do the hard thing -- to not only accept loss and graciously congratulate the winner, but to encourage the rest of the country to offer their blessings to the new President-elect and his family.

I am so proud Pennsylvania came through for President-elect Obama. I woke up my son when the networks declared Barrack our next President. History has been made. Yes we can, yes we did. I don't think I'll be able to sleep tonight. Thank you to everyone who made this possible. I never thought I would see this day.
